Two Sided Wall

The Two-Sided Wall is a product as well as an art piece. It is dedicated to a relationship between two close friends.

It consists of a recycled metal frame and three wooden boards. It contains three different walls. Together they represent an idea of the world. The middle wall has a role of a door, it connects and disconnects two parts of the world. One wall is covered in tongues (are made out of wool and shaped by hand) and covered with forms of the mouth. Mouths, tongues, and teeth are symbols of speaking abilities which represent a side that is constantly talking. It symbolizes the side of the world that constantly tells us what to do and what is expected of us. The second wall is plastered with broken pieces of mirror glass. We can take a look at ourselves in the mirror but cannot see clearly. The mirror wall stands for everything that one individual sees and feels. The two-sided wall describes communication between the outside and the inside worlds.
